Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for considering me as your celebrant. Below are some frequently asked questions to provide you with more information about my services. If you have any additional queries, please don't hesitate to reach out.

How do we book your services?

It's easy. Feel free to give me a call on 0407 411 472 or send an email to lifeceremony@outlook.com. You can also conveniently fill out the booking form on my website.

To lock in your chosen date, a non-refundable booking fee of $250 is required. This ensures that I'm available to be your dedicated Celebrant on your important day.

For your peace of mind and clarity, we'll work together based on a Celebrant Service Agreement. This agreement outlines the details of our collaboration, ensuring that your expectations are met and that every aspect of your ceremony is thoughtfully planned.

How far in advance should we book you?

Many couples book 12 to 18 months in advance to secure their preferred dates, especially during peak periods. However, flexibility is always possible, and I'm more than happy to accommodate shorter timeframes when available.

I recommend reaching out as soon as your date is confirmed. This way, we can ensure that I'm available to be your dedicated Celebrant and focus solely on making your day truly exceptional.

Can we meet before booking you?

Absolutely, and I encourage it! Meeting before you make a decision is a wonderful way for us to connect, build rapport, and ensure that you feel confident and excited about having me as your Celebrant.

Whether it's an in-person meeting or a virtual video chat, this is a chance for us to have a relaxed conversation, share stories, and discuss your vision for your special day. I want you to feel comfortable and assured that I'm the right fit to bring your ceremony to life.

Will you be officiating other weddings or ceremonies on the same day as ours?

For me its all about quality not quantity.

To ensure that you receive the highest level of care and dedication, I make it a point to officiate only one wedding or ceremony per day. This way, I can wholeheartedly devote myself to crafting and delivering a seamless, heartfelt ceremony that truly reflects your love story.

Rest assured, I'm all yours for the day. No distractions, no divided attention – just me, fully committed to making your ceremony an unforgettable moment for you and your loved ones.

 Do you support Marriage Equality?

Without a doubt, I am an advocate of Marriage Equality. I wholeheartedly celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community, and it's an immense privilege for me to officiate ceremonies that embrace the love and commitment of all couples.

Love knows no boundaries, and every love story deserves to be celebrated with joy, respect, and dignity. I am committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where couples from all walks of life can express their love and commitment in a ceremony that is uniquely theirs.

How long have you been a Celebrant?

Since 2008, I've had the incredible honour of serving as a Marriage Celebrant, bringing love stories to life and uniting couples in beautiful ceremonies. Over the years, I've had the privilege of officiating over 100 ceremonies, each one unique and deeply meaningful.

My extensive experience allows me to provide you with insights and suggestions to make your day truly exceptional. From the smallest details to the grandest gestures, I'm here to ensure that every moment is thoughtfully crafted to reflect your love story.

For me, being a Celebrant is more than a job – it's a meaningful, joyous, and rewarding passion. Every ceremony is an opportunity to create unforgettable moments and to celebrate love in all its forms. It's a privilege that I hold close to my heart, and I plan to continue this incredible role for as long as I can.

What is your Celebrant service fee?

Every ceremony is a bespoke reflection of the unique love story it honours, and the cost can fluctuate based on your specific desires and preferences. My range of wedding packages caters to various needs:

  • Simple & Sweet Package: Starting from $500

  • Just Perfect Package: Starting from $1000

  • Bells & Whistles Package: Starting from $1350

For more details and information about these packages, please refer to my Services page.

While getting married is a significant investment, it ranks alongside other major life milestones like buying a home or a car. Despite the expenses associated with various wedding suppliers such as venues, photographers/videographers, florists, bridal attire, and transportation, remember that the Celebrant plays a central role, making your wedding possible.

It's worth noting that a Registry ceremony at the Chippendale Registry Office begins at $469 on weekdays and $584 on Friday evenings and Saturdays, accommodating maximum 11 people.

Do you provide multi-cultural wedding celebrant services?

I take great pride in providing multi-cultural wedding celebrant services. Whether you're planning a Greek wedding with beautiful traditions like the Stefana (Exchanging of the Crowns), to incorporating profound Scottish Handfasting rituals, Jewish rituals like breaking of the glass, and even welcoming guests with heartfelt Vietnamese greetings, I'm here to bring your unique vision to life.

I have a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and their meaningful rituals. It's important to me that couples and families of various heritages feel fully included and connected to the ceremony, embracing and identifying with every special moment.

Let's work together to weave your unique cultural elements into a wedding ceremony that celebrates your love and heritage.

Do you travel outside of Sydney?

Whether it's a serene beach, a lush garden, or a charming destination close to your heart, I'm excited to go the distance – quite literally – from the Sutherland Shire to the South Coast, Southern Highlands, Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley and beyond to officiate your wedding or ceremony.

Note: For ceremonies that are located more than 50km from Sutherland Shire, additional costs apply. Contact me for more details.

What is your role on the day of the ceremony?

On your special day, I take on a pivotal role as your Marriage Celebrant to ensure that your ceremony unfolds seamlessly and beautifully.

I work closely with various vendors, including photographers, musicians, and venue staff, to coordinate the different elements that contribute to your ceremony. This ensures that everyone is aligned and prepared to create a cohesive and harmonious atmosphere.

I arrive early to your chosen venue to set up my portable PA system, perform a sound check ensuring that your ceremony's audio is crystal clear. My goal is to provide optimal sound quality so that every word and emotion can be shared by you and your guests.

I dedicate time to personally welcome and connect with your guests and bridal party. This personal touch establishes an atmosphere of inclusivity, warmth, and profound significance, shaping the tone for a ceremony that holds deep meaning and resonates with everyone present.

From guiding the bridal party's entrance to facilitating the exchange of vows and rings, I take care of every detail to create a seamless and memorable experience.

How long does a ceremony typically last?

The length of your ceremony is entirely up to you and can be customized to match your preferences and style. On average, ceremonies typically last around 20 minutes, but remember, there's no strict time limit. What truly matters is creating a ceremony that encapsulates the essence of your love story and celebrates your journey together.

Picture this: Your guests will be fully engaged and immersed in a ceremony that's not just a formality, but a joyful and heartfelt experience. Laughter, fun, tears, and moments of pure emotion, making it a captivating and unforgettable part of your special day.

How do we work together to create our ceremony?

This is where is the fun begins.  Our journey to crafting your dream ceremony is a collaboration that unfolds in these steps.

  1. Meet & Greet & Book: We're off to a fantastic start! Begin by securing your date with a non-refundable booking fee. Our partnership is further solidified through a Celebrant Service Agreement, ensuring a smooth path ahead.

  2. First Meeting: Around 4-6 months prior to your special day, we'll have an intimate heart-to-heart. You'll share your dreams and desires, while I navigate the legal aspects. This initial connection sets the tone for the journey ahead.

  3. Crafting Your Ceremony: Building upon the insights gathered from our meetings, I'll weave together a ceremony script that's a true reflection of your unique love story.

  4. Tweaks Here and There: Your input is golden! We'll refine the script, making sure every word resonates with your vision. This collaborative back-and-forth ensures your ceremony is perfectly tailored to your wishes.

  5. Rehearsal Revelry: Fast forward to two weeks before your big day. It's time for the rehearsal. This is where we fine-tune every detail, ensuring everyone's roles and rituals are in sync.

  6. Curtain Call: The grand moment arrives, and your stage is set for a ceremony that fulfills your dreams. With me as your guide, every step, every vow, and every heartfelt moment will unfold seamlessly, leaving you with cherished memories to last a lifetime.

Do you provide a wedding rehearsal?

Absolutely! I understand the importance of a smooth and well-coordinated ceremony, especially when there are cultural elements and multiple participants involved. That's why most of my wedding packages include a Wedding Rehearsal as a valuable component.

Rehearsals are typically held at the chosen venue, ideally about 2 weeks before the wedding and preferably at the same time as the actual ceremony. This allows us to walk through all the details, including positioning, timing, and roles of everyone involved, including family and friends who have a role in the ceremony.

During the rehearsal, we'll have the opportunity to fine-tune every aspect, ensuring that everyone feels confident and comfortable with their roles. This is particularly important for larger weddings and ceremonies with unique cultural elements, as it helps create a seamless and meaningful experience for you and your guests.

What do you wear on the day?

I've got you covered when it comes to my attire on your big day! I believe in keeping it classy yet stylish. Whether you have a specific colour scheme in mind or a particular wedding theme, I'm more than happy to coordinate my outfit to match your vision.

My goal is to seamlessly blend in with your wedding aesthetics, so you'll find me dressed in an ensemble that complements your chosen colours and overall theme.  If you have any preferences or details you'd like me to consider when selecting my outfit, feel free to share them with me.

Can we work with you on our Australian wedding from overseas?

Absolutely, we can take care of completing your Legal documents, namely the Notice of Intended Marriage by email.  This document is printed by you and you arrange to have it signed by an authorised witness overseas.  The document is then returned to me in its physical form and becomes active. We then can start planning your wedding ceremony online and finalise all the details once you arrive back in Australia.

Can you help us with our personal vows?

Absolutely! Personal vows are a beautiful way to express your love. There are various ways we can incorporate heartfelt moments into your ceremony. I have a collection of inspiring samples that can provide a starting point for your own heartfelt words. I'm also available to provide guidance, support, and even some friendly advice as you navigate this special part of your ceremony.
